  • What is Highland Bike Park?

Highland Mountain Bike Park is the world's only mountain bike specific lift-accessed mountain, focused entirely on biking.  Nestled in New Hampshire just 90 minutes north of Boston, there’s a good reason top pros plan trips around this park and it appears in countless edits and photoshoots.  Highland is a freerider’s paradise, but with an emphasis on progression, it’s also a great place for the novice to get comfortable and up their game.  A resort that dedicates all its time and energy to offering a great biking experience.

  • Is this for me?

If you have a taste for adventure, then yes!  While no downhill, or any mountain bike experience is needed, it is important that you know how to ride a bike and are comfortable on a bike.  While you do not need to be an elite athlete, the better shape you are in, the easier it will be.  The mt biking and downhill aspects can be taught to you by the coaches.  You may take it as slow as you like and stay on beginner trails all day, or move up as you progress and feel comfortable.

  • Is downhill mountain biking dangerous?

Any sport can be dangerous; it all depends on how much risk you take. Having a safe and fun experience requires taking the proper steps to learn in a safe way as well as having the right equipment. With the ‘Find Your Ride’ program you are signing up for, Highland’s trained coaches will give you a foundation of skills to ensure that you are on your way to a safe and fun day.

  • How do I get my bike to the top of the mountain?

The thrill of riding Highland is the gravity fed trails. You use the lift to get you and your bike to the top of the mountain. The lift is similar to what you would see at a ski resort, only half of the chairs are customized to carry up to three bikes at a time. Lift attendants and your coaches will assist you — don’t be afraid to ask for help!

  • What do I need to bring?

Bring your ID and a credit card.

  • What happens if it rains?

If it is only raining we still ride and teach lessons. If we experience thunder and/or lightning, New Hampshire state law requires that we close the lift for 30 minutes for each occurrence.

  • What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothes, as if you were going for a hike, along with athletic shoes and socks. For protection, full-face helmets, knee/shin, elbow pads, is included.  If you like riding with gloves or goggles please bring them with you, or you can buy them in the bike shop if you wish. If it is raining, bring a rain jacket and a change of clothes.
