CALL FOR SPACE • Two Epic Resorts-One Trip!

Steamboat/Winter Park, CO Feb 19-26, 2019

BSSC has lined up another winning combo trip of two of Colorado’s best, Winter Park and Steamboat Springs.  Near each other in geography, but offering very different ski experiences with only one short move.

We will start out in Winter Park with our hotel centrally located for easy ski in-walk-out access.  Terrain for all ability types, Winter Park contains over 3,000 skiable acres that span across two distinct mountains and 7 sections including Mary Jane’s world-famous moguls, Parsenn Bowl’s highest 6-pack chair in North America with wide open bowls, and the Cirque’s cliffs, steeps and extreme double-black terrain.

Then it’s on to Steamboat Springs.  Home to more winter Olympians than any other town, The Boat is famous for their ‘Champagne Powder’ and tree skiing and its super friendly, authentic cowboy western town.   Your ski days will be filled with the lightest, driest, fluff and evenings filled dancing in your boots (ski or cowboy) in the most fun bars and clubs in Colorado.   Our hotel is located on the slopes right under the gondola!

This is a trip not to be missed.  Knock two of the best off your bucket list in one trip. CALL FOR SPACE!

  • Is this for singles or couples?

Both.  Most of the people on all of our trips are single.  We do get couples as well, but mostly singles.  Some come with a friend or two, and MANY come solo.  That is why our trips work.   They are great for everybody.  You will meet many new friends whether coming alone, with a friend, or even a significant other.

  • Can I go solo?

Of course!  Many of or travelers go solo, that is why our trips work!  We match roommates so you do not have to pay a single room supplement, and it’s an instant friend.   We send along a trip leader/s to gather folks to ski, après, dine, nightlife, sightsee, together.  Trips are not cliquey.  If you want to meet new people, make new friends, going solo is a great way to go.  We don’t make you do anything, but if you want to meet and hang with others, it is there for you.  If you want to do your own thing, that is okay as well.

  • What is the age range? Are they all 20s- early 30s?

Age varies from trip to trip, but on vacations the age range is more in the 35-50 age range.  Some older, some younger, but the majority will be in the 35-50 range.  Some of the weekend trips, and sports leagues age range is more 20’s and 30’s.

  • Hotel/sleeping arrangements?

We are staying in a typical hotels, with 2 beds and two people per room.  If going solo, we will match you with same gender, same age (close as possible), smoker/non-smoker.  We do not match opposite genders, unless requested by both people.  OR you may request to be matched up with a friend or significant other as you wish, of any gender.  You may also chose to pay for a single room at an extra cost of $700, based on availability.

  • I snore/what if my roommate snores?

If you know you snore, you may want to be considerate and pay to get yourself a single room, or bring earplugs for your roommate.  If you are worried about your roommate snoring, you may want to consider paying for a single room or bringing ear plugs.  A single room is an extra $700, based on availability.

  • Will there be people to ski with?

From intermediate to advanced, chances are very good there will be many people that ski at your level.  The trip leader/s will arrange for those interested to ski together on the first morning to match up with same-level ability, and to make sure nobody is skiing alone that does not want to ski alone.  Beginners may want to sign up for lessons.

  • Will there be people to après/dine/hang out with?

Yes!  Trip leader will arrange daily meetings to ski together, to meet for après ski, for dinner, nightlife, etc.  You do not have to do all or any, we don’t make anybody do anything, but if you want company, it will be there.  You can pick and chose where to meet up with group as well.

  • Are there any other activities other than skiing?

Yes.  Plenty.  Winter Park offers cat-skiing, dog sledding, hot air ballooning, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and more.  Steamboat is an historic western town with many great stores for shopping and sightseeing plus there is a winter driving school, natural hot springs tours, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hot air ballooning, sleigh rides, horseback riding, fat tire winter biking, and much more!

  • How far is it from the airport to hotel?

We fly into Denver and it is about 2 hours to Winter Park.   It is about 1 hour from Winter Park to Steamboat.  And only 22 miles from Steamboat to the Hayden airport.

  • Should I rent or bring my own skis/board?

This is a personal choice.   For baggage, we are at the mercy of the airlines baggage regulations.  You should check their website for up-to-date regulations. Currently it is $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second bag each way.  Your ski/board bag will be accepted as checked baggage.  A boot bag is considered part of the ski bag.  So if you are bringing a suitcase to check, and your skis/boards it will cost you $70 to bring your skis/board.  Rentals are usually around $30-50 a day…so could be about $300 to rent for the week.  A bit more for demos.  We recommend bringing your boots.  So, you do the math, weigh the hassles of bringing with the hassles of renting and you decide.  There are rental shops close to the hotels, just google ski rentals Winter Park and Steamboat.  If you rent online there is usually a discount.

  • Can I extend my trip longer?

Yes.  If you’d like to stay longer we can likely extend your return flight.  There is a deviation fee to do so, usually about $150 and you can return from Hayden at a later date.  You would be on your own to find hotel rooms, get to the airport, etc.  Or you can take $400 off the trip price and make your own flight arrangements as you wish and meet us there.
