Stay up to date with the latest news and alerts from Boston Ski & Sports Club
Young professionals in the Greater Boston area work long hours, which leaves little time for making new friends. Many young adults living here are from other parts of the country or the world, and have come to Boston to work for the many prominent companies that are based in and around Boston. Boston Ski & Sports Club events provide excellent opportunities for young professionals to enjoy their time off, whether it’s a night out, a weekend getaway, or even a week-long international excursion. Here are some reasons why.
There’s Plenty of Variety
Boston Ski & Sports Club (BSSC) has been in operation for decades, which means that they understand what young professionals in the area like. Whether you enjoy taking in an MLB or NFL game with a new group of fans, spending a summer night partying on Boston Harbor, discovering Boston’s best bars on an historic pub crawl, or even packing your bags for a getaway to another state (or even another country!), you’re guaranteed to find something that appeals to you.
Build Friendships and Professional Networks
Another awesome reason for young professionals to sign up for BSSC events is the opportunity to build new friendships while growing your personal and professional network. Many people have relocated to Boston for school or their jobs and find it difficult to meet new people, or they simply work long hours and don’t always have enough free time to plan meeting up with others. Young professionals make up the largest percentage of Boston Ski & Sports Club members, and BSSC recognizes their struggles, and creates events specifically designed to allow young adults to get to know one another in exciting settings.
Go on Outdoor Adventures
Even if you don’t consider yourself the outdoorsy type, it’s always good to take advantage of your free time and the warm weather by getting outside and enjoying nature. Boston Ski & Sports Club offers various outdoor adventures designed to help you do just that. Summertime with BSSC affords you the chance to take in the biggest Mountain Bike Festival on the East Coast the end of June in Vermont or to relive your younger days in a whole new way at an incredibly popular Adult Summer Camp in July. You can also head up to Maine for a thrilling weekend of whitewater rafting in August. There’s always something to see and do, and even if you have little or no expertise, you’re sure to have an exciting and memorable experience.
Familiarize Yourself with Field Locations
By knowing ahead of time where you will go to play games, you can save yourself some of the stress associated with trying to use GPS to find your way around before a game. Showing up on time, or even early to warm up, is an important part of playing on a team sport. By familiarizing yourself with the locations and choosing the fastest routes, you’re already one step ahead.
Stay Fit and Have Fun
Many of Boston’s young professionals enjoy Boston Ski & Sports Club activities – especially ski trips and outdoor adventures – as a unique way to fit exercise into their busy lives. Gym memberships and jogs around the neighborhood are certainly good for your health, but they can get old fast, and more importantly they don’t offer much time to socialize. When you participate in ski trips and other events, you can make the most of your time while you get to know other people with similar interests. And if you participate regularly, it can contribute an important and enjoyable element to your overall fitness.
If you are a young professional who works long hours, finding it difficult to meet people in the Boston area, or just looking for some new and fun adventures, check out the variety of sports, trips, and social events available through Boston Ski & Sports Club. There is something for everyone, whether you prefer a party cruise, meeting up at a professional sports game, or even a weekend ski trip, BSSC designs everything for you to get the most out of your quest.
