Trip Overview

SOLD OUT. REGISTER TO SIGN UP FOR THE WAITLIST.

Come join BSSC as we head to Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley), hailed as the #1 ski resort in the United States by the Wall Street Journal!  Known for its 6,000 acres of uninterrupted legendary terrain split between the high-octane energy and legacy of Palisades and the laid-back but adventurous vibe at Alpine Meadows, now connected with the Base to Base Gondola, it makes your choice of which legendary resort to ski a lot easier.

Choose from the Warren Miller famous steeps, chutes, glades, and expansive bowls to its progressive terrain for every ability level with mountaintop beginner slopes to top to bottom groomed cruisers with amazing views of Lake Tahoe as a backdrop.  Truly something for everybody.  The ski resort features 42 lifts and 270 trails as well as the European-inspired Village at Palisades Tahoe featuring nearly 60 restaurants, bars, boutiques, and art galleries.

Palisades Tahoe consistently boasts an impressive annual snowfall of 450 inches or more and a season lasting well into May and often until the 4th of July, making it a top spring ski destination. March is the top month for average snowfall and a fantastic time to fill your powder dreams, not to mention the California sun!

We will be staying at the first-class Everline Resort & Spa, unparalleled luxury in the breathtaking mountain setting of Lake Tahoe. Nestled in the heart of Olympic Valley at the foot of Palisades Tahoe, site of the historic 1960 Winter Olympics, the resort offers an exquisite blend of natural beauty and indulgent amenities.  True ski in/ski out with its own chairlift with great glades and cruisers and direct access to Palisades, as well as free shuttle service to the Village at Palisades Tahoe, it is THE ideal base camp for your ski vacation.

Palisades Tahoe (and Alpine Meadows) is on the Ikon Pass.  Once lift ticket prices are announced by the resort we will publish them as well.  Join us for this incredible adventure.

Tuesday, March 18

Meet everybody at the gate Tuesday, March 18 and depart Logan airport 9:10AM with the BSSC group and arrive 3:20PM in Sacramento. Gather at baggage claim and follow the trip leader/s to our private bus. It is about 2.5 hours (without traffic) to hotel. There may be time to rent skis/boards, if need be?  Leave your skis at the ski valet!  We will have a Welcome Reception at the hotel with one complimentary drink, and then group may head out for dinner or explore on your own.  Trip leader/s will make plans to meet up for skiing and riding the next day!  Check whatsapp!  Head out for nightlife if you have the energy!

Wednesday, March 19 – Monday, March 24

Ski, ski, ski! The Everline Resort is true ski in/out.  Pick up your ski gear at the ski valet and hop on their own chairlift right out the door that has wonderful glades and ski runs of its own and directly connected to Palisades Tahoe.  So roll out of bed at your leisure, enjoy a relaxing breakfast or get out there right away, it is totally up to you. The trip leader/s and the group will decide the evening before where to go each day. You may join the trip leader/s and the group for skiing and riding or explore on your own.  Alpine Meadows is also connected via the Base to Base Gondola.  There is 6,000 acres to enjoy, with terrain for all levels.  For the huckers there are chutes and steeps not for the faint of heart, and there are plenty of top to bottom open bowls and cruisers for the mere mortal.

Many great places to stop for lunch, and of course, iconic views of Lake Tahoe.

Wonderful après ski scene in the Village or back at the Resort.  Enjoy the great outdoor pool and hot tubs.

Palisades Tahoe/Alpine Meadows is on the Ikon Pass, so if you have an Ikon Pass you are all set, or purchase a ski pass to best suit you….maybe all 6 days, or 4 or 5 days so you have a few days off to explore off-slope. We will send emails with more info closer to trip departure for lift passes. Trip leader/s will plan places to meet for après each day as well as group dinners and nightlife.

Tuesday, March 25

Depart hotel with group for airport for 10:50AM flight and your return home after one incredible ski vacation! Bus departure time will be announced prior to trip or on the trip by the trip leader/s, but approx 6:00AM. Arrive back in Boston approx 10:00PM.

Things to know

Frequently Asked Questions
On weekends and vacations, will there be people to ski with?

From intermediate to advanced, chances are very good there will be many people that ski at your level. The trip leader/s will arrange for those interested to ski together on the first morning to match up with same-level ability. Beginners may want to sign up for lessons.

What are the demographics on BSSC trips?

In general, BSSC trips are designed for adults, 21 or older.*
For overnight travel the ages range from twenties to fifties, with a mix of couples, groups of friends, and singles travelling solo. Sometimes the more adventurous or strenuous the activity, the younger the crowd might skew. With exotic or more costly arrangements, you are likely to find a few more “well-seasoned travelers” mixed in as they check off their bucket list! BSSC trips are about us taking care of all the details, so you can just enjoy yourself, and perhaps experience something new, with like-minded people.

*The participation of minors is considered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Ski & Travel Director. Minors are permitted on BSSC Day Ski & Snowboard trips. Check the day ski trip policies for more details.

Is it easy to go on a BSSC trip by myself?

Yes! BSSC makes it easy and economical for the solo traveler. Our lodging options are spelled out clearly for each trip giving you the choice of room that best fits your needs.

What are the rooming arrangements for overnight weekend and vacation trips?

BSSC traditionally offers “minimum occupancy”. Whether in a hotel or condo, it is typically two per room, and you each get your own bed. Nobody has to sleep on a pullout or rollaway. Select trips may also offer lower prices for triple and quad occupancy.

Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. If traveling solo, we will match you with a roommate of the same gender and approximate age, or you may request to room with a friend or significant other of any gender.

For overnight weekend and vacation trips, how far in advance do I need to register?

For BSSC overnight travel, booking 3-4 weeks in advance is recommended. For week-long vacations, book early to guarantee your spot and get the best rates. Ski vacations are usually announced in the summer at a $100-$150 savings. Check each trip for specific deadlines and policies. The closer the travel date, the more complex and costly it might be to procure accommodations and/or airfare.

Can I get my own air and book land only with BSSC?

Yes, most BSSC ski vacations may be booked without air from Boston. Before you book any portion of your vacation, call us for a quote and to discuss your possible flight schedule. If our trip includes transfers, you will need to coordinate times to meet the BSSC group or be responsible for getting yourself to the resort.
