It has been far too long, but the wait is finally over. BSSC invites you to return to one of the most legendary and awe-inspiring destinations in the world of skiing: Chamonix and the Mont Blanc Valley. Nestled beneath the towering majesty of Mont Blanc—the highest peak in Europe—this iconic alpine enclave is a place that has enchanted mountaineers, thrill-seekers, and lovers of beauty for generations. This is more than a ski trip; it’s a pilgrimage to the heart of alpine legend.

Chamonix is not just a resort—it’s a sprawling alpine playground comprised of four major ski areas, each offering a unique experience beneath the awe-inducing summits of the French Alps. Just an hour from Geneva, it is astonishingly accessible for a destination of such grandeur. From the heart-racing steeps and famed off-piste terrain to the sun-drenched groomers and sweeping cruisers that cater to all skill levels, Chamonix provides an unmatched variety of terrain—all framed by jaw-dropping views of Mont Blanc and its surrounding peaks.

For the truly adventurous, there is no greater badge of honor than conquering La Vallée Blanche—arguably the most famous off-piste run in the world. Accessible only by the iconic Aiguille du Midi cable car (a marvel of engineering and once the highest in the world), the journey to the summit alone is unforgettable. At 3,842 meters, the panoramic views are as breathtaking as the descent itself: a 23-kilometer (14.2-mile) guided journey through untouched glaciers and soaring icefalls, descending from the heavens to the valley floor. This is the stuff of dreams, and for many, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

But the magic of Chamonix extends far beyond its slopes. Picture snow-dusted streets winding through charming villages, where the architecture reflects a deep-rooted mountain culture and the atmosphere hums with the energy of a storied past. The town center—car-free and vibrant—is alive with après-ski elegance, bustling cafés, boutique shopping, and a nightlife scene that rivals the world’s best. And for those moments off the mountain, Chamonix delivers in spades: from alpine spas and fine dining to ice climbing, winter hiking, and panoramic train rides, the experiences are as rich and varied as the landscape itself.

Chamonix is included on the Ikon Pass, making access even more enticing for pass holders. But even without the Ikon, lift tickets are surprisingly affordable—especially for a destination of such renown and refinement.

This is your chance to ski where legends have carved their lines. To bask in the luxury of timeless adventure. To stand at the foot of giants. Don’t miss your place in this unparalleled journey to the pinnacle of European skiing.

Sample Itinerary – A Week of Alpine Elegance & Adventure

Your detailed daily itinerary will be finalized at the pre-departure group meeting. A dedicated WhatsApp group will be set up for real-time coordination and recommendations throughout the trip.

Friday/Saturday – February 6–7: Arrival in the Alps

Meet your fellow travelers at Boston Logan and depart at 4:15 PM for an overnight transatlantic flight. After a smooth connection in Frankfurt, arrive in Geneva by 9:25 AM on Saturday. Your BSSC leaders will guide you through customs and onto your private group coach for the scenic one-hour ride to Chamonix.

After check-in at Chalet Hôtel Le Prieuré, you’ll have time to explore the vibrant village or get fitted for rentals. That evening, toast to the week ahead with a welcome reception followed by your first gourmet group dinner in the hotel’s elegant alpine dining room. Expect roaring fireplaces, fine wine, and mountain views.

Sunday to Friday – February 8–13: Ski, Explore, Indulge

Wake to delicious breakfasts served daily, then head to the slopes via the complimentary ski shuttle—just steps from your door. With four major ski areas, you can conquer a new mountain each day: cruise sunlit pistes at Brévent–Flégère, dive into powdery bowls at Grands Montets, glide through forested terrain at Les Houches, or discover the hidden beauty of Le Tour–Vallorcine.

For the ultimate bragging rights, plan a guided descent of the Vallée Blanche, a 14-mile glacier run accessible only by the dramatic Aiguille du Midi cable car—an engineering marvel offering panoramic views of the Mont Blanc Massif. Even non-skiers should ride it just for the view.

Après-ski here is legendary. Enjoy lively terraces, bars pulsing with music, and cozy cafés. Back at the hotel, relax in the spa, sauna, or indoor pool, or book a massage at the acclaimed Cinq Mondes Spa. Dinners are a nightly celebration—Savoie specialties, shared stories, and new friendships formed. And if you’re still energized, Chamonix’s nightlife awaits just outside your door.

Non-skiers? No problem. Chamonix offers winter hikes, spa days, dog sledding, wine tastings, gourmet food tours, paragliding, scenic rail rides, snowshoeing, and charming boutiques—all with Europe’s highest peaks as your backdrop.

Saturday – February 14: Farewell to the Alps

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and soak up the last views before our private coach returns you to Geneva Airport around 10:30 AM. You’ll arrive back in Boston by early evening, filled with memories of one of the most exhilarating and elegant winter getaways imaginable.

Things to know

Frequently Asked Questions
On weekends and vacations, will there be people to ski with?

From intermediate to advanced, chances are very good there will be many people that ski at your level. The trip leader/s will arrange for those interested to ski together on the first morning to match up with same-level ability. Beginners may want to sign up for lessons.

What are the demographics on BSSC trips?

In general, BSSC trips are designed for adults, 21 or older.*
For overnight travel the ages range from twenties to fifties, with a mix of couples, groups of friends, and singles travelling solo. Sometimes the more adventurous or strenuous the activity, the younger the crowd might skew. With exotic or more costly arrangements, you are likely to find a few more “well-seasoned travelers” mixed in as they check off their bucket list! BSSC trips are about us taking care of all the details, so you can just enjoy yourself, and perhaps experience something new, with like-minded people.

*The participation of minors is considered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Ski & Travel Director. Minors are permitted on BSSC Day Ski & Snowboard trips. Check the day ski trip policies for more details.

Is it easy to go on a BSSC trip by myself?

Yes! BSSC makes it easy and economical for the solo traveler. Our lodging options are spelled out clearly for each trip giving you the choice of room that best fits your needs.

What are the rooming arrangements for overnight weekend and vacation trips?

BSSC traditionally offers “minimum occupancy”. Whether in a hotel or condo, it is typically two per room, and you each get your own bed. Nobody has to sleep on a pullout or rollaway. Select trips may also offer lower prices for triple and quad occupancy.

Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. If traveling solo, we will match you with a roommate of the same gender and approximate age, or you may request to room with a friend or significant other of any gender.

For overnight weekend and vacation trips, how far in advance do I need to register?

For BSSC overnight travel, booking 3-4 weeks in advance is recommended. For week-long vacations, book early to guarantee your spot and get the best rates. Ski vacations are usually announced in the summer at a $100-$150 savings. Check each trip for specific deadlines and policies. The closer the travel date, the more complex and costly it might be to procure accommodations and/or airfare.

Can I get my own air and book land only with BSSC?

Yes, most BSSC ski vacations may be booked without air from Boston. Before you book any portion of your vacation, call us for a quote and to discuss your possible flight schedule. If our trip includes transfers, you will need to coordinate times to meet the BSSC group or be responsible for getting yourself to the resort.
