Sample Itinerary

This is a general itinerary. Final details will be shared at the pre-departure meeting and through the group WhatsApp closer to departure.

Saturday–Sunday, March 20–21: Depart Boston & Arrive in Italy

Your Italian Alps escape begins Saturday evening at Boston Logan, where the group departs at 10:50 PM for Milan via Zurich. Upon arrival in Milan at approximately 2:15 PM on Sunday, March 21, you’ll meet your BSSC trip leaders, clear customs, gather at baggage claim, and board a private coach for the scenic transfer to Club Med Pragelato Sestriere.

The ride to the resort is approximately 3 hours, winding toward the high alpine beauty of Piedmont and the famous Via Lattea ski region. After arrival, there should be time to settle in and rent skis or boards if needed. That evening, enjoy a welcome reception, your first group dinner at the resort, and the chance to make plans for the week ahead. Then relax into the Club Med experience and enjoy the resort’s many all-inclusive amenities.

Monday–Friday, March 22–26: Ski, Explore & Savor the Milky Way

Each day begins with a generous breakfast before stepping out to meet your instructor or guide. From Monday through Friday, guests are placed into small, same-level groups for professional instruction, guided mountain exploration, or insider access to the best terrain across the Via Lattea.

Whether you want to fine-tune your turns, discover hidden powder stashes, tackle off-piste descents, or simply follow a guide to the best snow of the day, the experience is designed to elevate your week on the mountain. You may even ski across the border into France, with your instructor or guide leading the way out and back.

Lunch becomes part of the adventure. Enjoy the Club Med mountain hut on the slopes or stop at one of the many alpine restaurants scattered throughout the Milky Way. However you choose to spend midday, lunch in Europe is more than a break — it is part of the experience. After skiing, head into Sestriere for lively après before returning to the resort.

Back at Club Med, the indulgence continues. Take a few laps in the indoor pool, soothe tired legs in the hot tub, or treat yourself to spa services, massages, sauna, and steam for an additional fee. Then enjoy snacks, music, and the full open bar before settling into another evening of gourmet dining, fine wines, nightly entertainment, and classic Club Med hospitality.

Saturday, March 27: Final Day on the Slopes

Your final ski day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Return to the favorite runs and hidden corners your guide introduced earlier in the week, explore new terrain, or simply savor one more day in one of Europe’s largest and most exciting ski domains.

That evening, gather for a final dinner and one last night of Club Med entertainment, celebration, and relaxation before the journey home.

Sunday, March 28: Return Home

After breakfast, the group will depart the resort at approximately 9:00 AM for Milan Airport and the return flight to Boston. You’ll head home after one incredible all-inclusive Italian ski vacation, with an estimated arrival back in Boston at 7:55 PM.

Things to know

Frequently Asked Questions
On weekends and vacations, will there be people to ski with?

From intermediate to advanced, chances are very good there will be many people that ski at your level. The trip leader/s will arrange for those interested to ski together on the first morning to match up with same-level ability. Beginners may want to sign up for lessons.

What are the demographics on BSSC trips?

In general, BSSC trips are designed for adults, 21 or older.*
For overnight travel the ages range from twenties to fifties, with a mix of couples, groups of friends, and singles travelling solo. Sometimes the more adventurous or strenuous the activity, the younger the crowd might skew. With exotic or more costly arrangements, you are likely to find a few more “well-seasoned travelers” mixed in as they check off their bucket list! BSSC trips are about us taking care of all the details, so you can just enjoy yourself, and perhaps experience something new, with like-minded people.

*The participation of minors is considered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Ski & Travel Director. Minors are permitted on BSSC Day Ski & Snowboard trips. Check the day ski trip policies for more details.

Is it easy to go on a BSSC trip by myself?

Yes! BSSC makes it easy and economical for the solo traveler. Our lodging options are spelled out clearly for each trip giving you the choice of room that best fits your needs.

What are the rooming arrangements for overnight weekend and vacation trips?

BSSC traditionally offers “minimum occupancy”. Whether in a hotel or condo, it is typically two per room, and you each get your own bed. Nobody has to sleep on a pullout or rollaway. Select trips may also offer lower prices for triple and quad occupancy.

Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. If traveling solo, we will match you with a roommate of the same gender and approximate age, or you may request to room with a friend or significant other of any gender.

For overnight weekend and vacation trips, how far in advance do I need to register?

For BSSC overnight travel, booking 3-4 weeks in advance is recommended. For week-long vacations, book early to guarantee your spot and get the best rates. Ski vacations are usually announced in the summer at a $100-$150 savings. Check each trip for specific deadlines and policies. The closer the travel date, the more complex and costly it might be to procure accommodations and/or airfare.

Can I get my own air and book land only with BSSC?

Yes, most BSSC ski vacations may be booked without air from Boston. Before you book any portion of your vacation, call us for a quote and to discuss your possible flight schedule. If our trip includes transfers, you will need to coordinate times to meet the BSSC group or be responsible for getting yourself to the resort.
