Club Med La Rosiere, France

  • La Rosiere, France

Trip Overview

Back by popular demand, BSSC has lined up an amazing ski experience to Club Med!  Join us as we venture to the luxurious Club Med La Rosiere, France.  Built on the slopes with ski-in ski-out convenience and perched at 6,396 feet overlooking the entire Tarentaise Valley, the stone and wood-clad Savoyard interior design tells the fabulous story of the mythical Petit St Bernard Pass and the crossing of the Alps by Hannibal with his elephants.  After skiing, take a swim in the indoor pool with amazing views of the Alps, soak in the outdoor hot tub, and, of course, indulge in decadent French cuisine!  And as you know, it is ALL-INCLUSIVE!  That’s right; gourmet dining throughout the day, an open bar, lift passes, ski instruction/guides, nightly entertainment, and service and accommodations are unsurpassed.  And we will be staying in the Superior Balcony rooms with magical views of the most beautiful Savoy summits.  Can you say pampered?

But don’t forget the great skiing and riding!  La Rosiere is a rare ski resort, allowing you to ski in France and Italy within the Espace San Bernardo ski area. Resting high at 6,068ft it is the snowiest ski resort in the area, more than its close, more famous neighbors Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, and La Plagne, it is also one of the sunniest!  The true ski-in-ski-out convenience of our Club Med home leads you out the door to wide appeal for all levels to enjoy.  High elevation gets the snow, long vertical runs, great on-piste terrain for all levels, plenty of off-piste for the adventurous, amazing views, and oh, you can ski into Italy!  Yes, lift connected to La Thuile in Italy, you can ski across the border and add another country to your experience.  Your ski experience includes a 6-day all-area ski pass and 5 days of instruction or guide.

This trip is a bit more expensive than the typical BSSC trip, but the value and indulgence is fantastic.  Remember, all your meals, full open bar, your lift pass for the week, 5 days of instruction and guides, and more, all included.  And this is not your typical hotel experience.  The atmosphere, the lobby, the restaurants, the pool, the spa, your rooms, all first-class serviced by the attentive Club Med staff!  Step up and join us!

Itinerary Highlights:

Below is an example itinerary for your trip. Your trip leaders will provide an updated itinerary after the group informational meeting just prior to trip departure. A Whatsapp will also be arranged prior to trip to stay up to date with the group itinerary.

Saturday/Sunday February 1/2

Meet everybody at the gate Saturday, Feb 1 and depart Logan airport 9:55PM with the BSSC group and arrive approx 1:45PM on Sunday, Feb 2 in Geneva. Clear customs and gather at baggage claim together and follow the trip leader/s to our private bus. It is about 3 hours (without traffic) to hotel. There should be time to rent skis/boards, if need be.  We will have a Welcome Reception at the hotel and then group dinner at the hotel (time to be announced upon arrival) and make plans to meet up for skiing and riding the next day! Enjoy the amenities at the hotel.

Monday, Feb 3-Saturday, Feb 8

Ski, ski, ski! Roll out of bed at your leisure. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast each morning and then walk out the door to meet your instructor/guide and group.  Monday-Friday you will be put into small same-level groups with an instructor/guide for a weeks’ worth of instruction or to show you the secret powder stashes and off-piste descents.  You are of course welcome to skip a day or more of this and explore on your own.  You don’t need your passport, but cross the border on skis into Italy and enjoy the ski resort of La Thuile.  Your instructor/guide will show you the way, and back.  Return to Club Med for the included lunch or maybe try a mountain lunch hut in Italy.  Either way, relax and enjoy lunch only as it is done in Europe, a true experience.

Saturday ski as you wish and return to your favorite spots that your instructor/guide pointed out or explore new ones.  Maybe try paragliding or snowkiting.

Other on-mountain options include the X-Treme Luge, a rollercoaster-like thrill ride; Snakegliss, a chain of sleds; snowkiting; or paragliding.  Heli-skiing is even an option in Italy.

After skiing, take a short 15-minute walk down to a wonderful French village for après ski, shopping, the frozen Igloo village, and of course all the great amenities at our hotel, such as indoor pool and outdoor hot tub, and open bar!

Dinner each night at hotel is a Club Med experience.  Be wined and dined.  After dinner enjoy the nightly Club Med entertainment, or venture into town.

Sunday, February 9

After breakfast we will depart hotel approx. 9:00AM for the group 2:50PM flight and your return to the states after one incredible ski vacation!  Arrive back in Boston approx 8:15PM

Things to know

Frequently Asked Questions
On weekends and vacations, will there be people to ski with?

From intermediate to advanced, chances are very good there will be many people that ski at your level. The trip leader/s will arrange for those interested to ski together on the first morning to match up with same-level ability. Beginners may want to sign up for lessons.

What are the demographics on BSSC trips?

In general, BSSC trips are designed for adults, 21 or older.*
For overnight travel the ages range from twenties to fifties, with a mix of couples, groups of friends, and singles travelling solo. Sometimes the more adventurous or strenuous the activity, the younger the crowd might skew. With exotic or more costly arrangements, you are likely to find a few more “well-seasoned travelers” mixed in as they check off their bucket list! BSSC trips are about us taking care of all the details, so you can just enjoy yourself, and perhaps experience something new, with like-minded people.

*The participation of minors is considered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Ski & Travel Director. Minors are permitted on BSSC Day Ski & Snowboard trips. Check the day ski trip policies for more details.

Is it easy to go on a BSSC trip by myself?

Yes! BSSC makes it easy and economical for the solo traveler. Our lodging options are spelled out clearly for each trip giving you the choice of room that best fits your needs.

What are the rooming arrangements for overnight weekend and vacation trips?

BSSC traditionally offers “minimum occupancy”. Whether in a hotel or condo, it is typically two per room, and you each get your own bed. Nobody has to sleep on a pullout or rollaway. Select trips may also offer lower prices for triple and quad occupancy.

Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. If traveling solo, we will match you with a roommate of the same gender and approximate age, or you may request to room with a friend or significant other of any gender.

For overnight weekend and vacation trips, how far in advance do I need to register?

For BSSC overnight travel, booking 3-4 weeks in advance is recommended. For week-long vacations, book early to guarantee your spot and get the best rates. Ski vacations are usually announced in the summer at a $100-$150 savings. Check each trip for specific deadlines and policies. The closer the travel date, the more complex and costly it might be to procure accommodations and/or airfare.

Can I get my own air and book land only with BSSC?

Yes, most BSSC ski vacations may be booked without air from Boston. Before you book any portion of your vacation, call us for a quote and to discuss your possible flight schedule. If our trip includes transfers, you will need to coordinate times to meet the BSSC group or be responsible for getting yourself to the resort.
