BSSC is heading to Norway for a winter adventure that blends Olympic ski history, Scandinavian scenery, and two nights in one of Europe’s most exciting capital cities. We will spend six nights in Lillehammer, the charming mountain town that hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics, before finishing with two nights in Oslo for museums, waterfront exploring, Viking history, exceptional dining, and vibrant Nordic city life.
Lillehammer sits along Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, surrounded by forested ridges, snowy valleys, and classic Scandinavian charm. The town offers a warm and authentic winter atmosphere, with colorful wooden buildings, inviting cafés, Olympic landmarks, and easy access to nearby skiing. It is the kind of destination where the entire experience feels refreshingly different from the traditional Alps itinerary.
The skiing is centered around Hafjell, the 1994 Olympic alpine venue located just minutes from Lillehammer. Hafjell features scenic groomers, wide cruisers, terrain for a variety of ability levels, and a modern lift system with gondola access. BSSC will provide planned daily round-trip transportation from Lillehammer to the ski area, with Hafjell serving as the primary ski destination and the potential to visit nearby Kvitfjell, another Olympic legacy mountain known for long runs and World Cup pedigree.
Our home base in Lillehammer is Home Hotel Hammer, located directly on Storgata and within walking distance of cafés, shops, restaurants, and the train station. Breakfast is included daily, along with a light evening meal in Lillehammer, plus coffee, tea, fruit, and afternoon sweets at the hotel. After six nights in Lillehammer, the trip concludes with two nights at Clarion Hotel The Hub in the heart of Oslo, placing the group close to the city’s major attractions, waterfront districts, restaurants, museums, and transit connections.
Airfare Options and Flexibility
The standard package price includes round-trip economy airfare from Boston to Oslo on Icelandair. Prefer to use airline miles, upgrade your flights, or arrange your own travel? Please note that group airfare does not allow seat assignment or upgrade requests.
This journey offers a little bit of everything: Olympic skiing, Scandinavian winter culture, cozy mountain-town charm, and an unforgettable Oslo finale. Join BSSC for a Norway ski week filled with snowy turns, Nordic scenery, and new adventures each day.

Yes! BSSC makes it easy and economical for the solo traveler. Our lodging options are spelled out clearly for each trip giving you the choice of room that best fits your needs.
BSSC traditionally offers “minimum occupancy”. Whether in a hotel or condo, it is typically two per room, and you each get your own bed. Nobody has to sleep on a pullout or rollaway. Select trips may also offer lower prices for triple and quad occupancy.
Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. If traveling solo, we will match you with a roommate of the same gender and approximate age, or you may request to room with a friend or significant other of any gender.
For BSSC overnight travel, booking 3-4 weeks in advance is recommended. For week-long vacations, book early to guarantee your spot and get the best rates. Ski vacations are usually announced in the summer at a $100-$150 savings. Check each trip for specific deadlines and policies. The closer the travel date, the more complex and costly it might be to procure accommodations and/or airfare.
Yes, most BSSC ski vacations may be booked without air from Boston. Before you book any portion of your vacation, call us for a quote and to discuss your possible flight schedule. If our trip includes transfers, you will need to coordinate times to meet the BSSC group or be responsible for getting yourself to the resort.
