Taos is legendary for its steep chutes, bowls, technical descents, and expert terrain. Advanced skiers and riders will love the challenge of iconic runs like Al’s Run and the terrain off Kachina Peak, where the mountain’s reputation for serious skiing comes fully alive. But Taos is not only for experts. Intermediates will find a strong variety of rolling blues, scenic cruisers, and confidence-building powder terrain, including Upper Totemoff, Honeysuckle, and High Five. Some runs stretch up to five miles, making this a mountain where long, satisfying ski days are easy to find.

The mountain stats are impressive. Taos offers 1,294 acres of skiable terrain, a base elevation of 9,350 feet, a summit elevation of 12,481 feet, 3,131 feet of vertical, 110 trails, and 13 lifts. The terrain breakdown — 24% beginner, 25% intermediate, and 51% advanced/expert — gives Taos its unmistakable big-mountain identity while still offering options for a range of skiers and riders. Add mid-mountain dining, views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and the fun of searching for the elusive legendary Martini Trees, and every ski day becomes part of the larger Taos story.

Taos is also known for one of the most celebrated ski school traditions in North America. Voted No. 1 Ski School in North America by USA Today, Taos offers daily lessons, three-day programs, and its famous Classic Ski Weeks. A Taos tradition since the 1950s, Ski Weeks are immersive six-day programs built around expert instruction, small groups, technique development, and supportive mountain exploration. The original Taos Ski Week includes an Après Technique talk and finishes with the legendary Martini Tree — a true Taos rite of passage.

The lodging is one of the biggest reasons this trip stands out. We will be staying literally steps from the lifts at Snakedance Condos, one of the best locations in Taos Ski Valley. These two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominiums offer the comfort and flexibility of condo living with the convenience of a slopeside address. Each unit features a full kitchen, shared living space, rustic mountain charm, modern amenities, and flexible king or split-king bedding in each bedroom. With two people per room and four people per condo, this setup creates the perfect balance of comfort, value, and group-trip camaraderie.

The slopeside location changes the entire pace of the trip. Wake up in the village, make breakfast in your condo, walk to the lifts in moments, return during the ski day if you wish, and enjoy après-ski without worrying about shuttles or complicated logistics. Beyond the mountain, the town of Taos adds a memorable cultural dimension to the trip. BSSC will schedule a group excursion into town so guests can experience the heritage, culture, and charm that make Taos one of the most unique mountain destinations in the United States.

Each day is designed to be social, flexible, and easy. Trip leaders will arrange morning meetups for those who want to ski or ride with the group, while guests are also welcome to ski independently, break off at any time, or return to the condos whenever they wish. Lunch locations and group plans will be shared daily, and the trip WhatsApp will keep everyone connected throughout the week. After skiing, gather for après-ski in the village, join the group for dinner and nightlife, or relax in your condo and enjoy the mountain setting.

Taos Ski Valley is on the Ikon Pass, and lift tickets are not included in the package price. Guests without an Ikon Pass may purchase a five-out-of-six-day adult lift pass for $585, or senior pass for $535. That gives travelers flexibility while keeping the overall package value strong, especially with slopeside lodging, airfare, transfers, and group support already included.

Airfare Options and Flexibility

The standard package price includes round-trip economy airfare from Boston to Albuquerque on United Airlines, along with group airport transfers between Albuquerque and Taos Ski Valley. Luggage and ski fees are not included, and group airfare does not allow seat assignment or upgrade requests.

Prefer to use miles, upgrade independently, or arrange your own flights? A land-only option is available for $350 less than the full package price. Guests booking their own airfare may still take advantage of the included group transfers by arriving in Albuquerque before 12:30 PM on January 23 and departing Albuquerque after 1:00 PM on January 30. If your flights do not align with the group transfer schedule, you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the resort at your own expense.
